COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS

KEITH ANDERSON'S website says he will have vocal cord surgery soon. It's a good time 'cuz his tour schedule is light - he gets into full gear in March. His doc is expecting him to make a full recovery. His condition isn't painful but he's had to scrap a few shows because of it One of the shows he cancelled last year was at The Pheasant Run Resort. At the time we hoped for a rescheduling, and that may still happen, but I haven't heard anything yet. You can hear his new song "She Could've Been Mine" now on WXRO.

The Grammy's are coming up soon and since they are on CBS they'll be airing a special pre-GRAMMY program "Katie Couric's 'All-Access' Grammy Special" February 4th at 7pm. Country Stars taking part in the program include Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift. Katie went out on the road with Taylor for a behind the scenes look. The idea behind the show is to show us a new side to the artists and producer Susan Zirinsky says we can expect the performers to reveal themselves in uniquesly intimate ways (sounds like a Barbara Walters thing to do). Other stars on the show are Justin Timberlake, Lil' Wayne, Katy Perry, the Jonas Brothers, Metallica, and Ne-Yo.

JASON ALDEAN has named his new album "Wide Open" and it's hitting stores on April 7th. Why "Wide Open" for a title? Jason says it, "describes my personality and attitude 100-percent." He also recorded the material live with his touring band and they, "tried to picture ourselves playing them in an arena down the road somewhere. I think you can definitely feel that energy." "She's Country" is on it and a cover of Alabama's "My Home's in Alabama" featuring guest vocals by Randy Owen. Jason, told USA Today, "I made my band learn and record it as true to the original track as possible, tried to get the same guitar tones, play the same licks."
