GLEN CAMPBELL HAS ALZHEIMER'S

He spoke with People magazine exclusively. The diagnosis was made six months ago, but he has suffered from short term memory loss for years. Because he has some farewell concerts planned this fall his wife Kim says he decided to go public now. She says, "Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer. But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?" Glen says, "I still love making music. And I still love performing for my fans. I'd like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin."

I SAID IT FIRST

Ever since seeing Ashton Shepherd at Country USA Saturday I have been saying she is awesome. Her performance was terrific. Well, now Rolling Stone recognized her as an "Artist to Watch." The magazine compared her to Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.

She's had a couple of amazing songs and I hope she can continue to do well. She really is a terrific performer and I think Rolling Stone is totally right!

She has an album coming out soon - Where Country Grows - and she's going to have her baby soon.

Ashton says she hopes to be back in time to hit the CMA red carpet.

P.S. You'll be able to bid on an Ashton Shepherd autographed photo at next year's WBEV/WXRO Children's Radiothon.

Craig says, "That's really what the show is about: my world. So we're going to highlight them a little bit, plus...it gives me an opportunity to make fun of my band guys!"

BABIES!

Congrats to Justin Moore and his wife Kate as they are expecting baby #2 in November. This baby will join Ella Kole who is a little over a year.

Eric Church and his wife Katherine are expecting a boy in October. He'll be their first child.

PROUD TO BE HERE

That's the title of Trace Adkins new CD that is set to hit shelves on August 2nd. "Just Fishin'" is the first single. Trace says, "The title song could have been based on my life, and it's about narrow escapes and the grace that guides you through. Obviously, now after the fire, Proud to Be Here takes on an even greater significance. Once again, I've been blessed and everyone is safe." Trace has had several near death experiences (once a tractor fell over on him crushing his sternum while working on his farm).

You can pre-order the deluxe edition starting July 12th on iTunes. The deluxe edition includes 4 additional tracks including a Blake Shelton duet for a song called "If I Was a Woman." Already can't wait to hear that one!

WILLIE'S POT CASE

Remember last year when police found about four ounces of weed on his tour bus? Well he won't be facing any jail time for charges of marijuana possession. He did earn a misdemeanor charge. He pleaded no contest after the prosecutors agreed to reduce the charges. If he stays out of trouble for the next 30 days and pays a $500 fine the judge will dismiss the case altogether.

NEW LADY A CD

Finally! I have word to share with you about the much anticipated 3rd album.

It's coming out September 13th and will be called "Own the Night."

"Just a Kiss" is the first single (and it's marvelous!) and their fastest-rising song so far.

After winning 5 Grammy's they began rehearsals for the album.

Hillary Scott calls the collection "nostalgic" and hopes we pick up that vibe. She says, "We just want that title, Own the Night, to carry over into our live shows like we want our fans, our audience to take ownership in the show and live in the moment and own the night, you know?"

One of the songs is called "We Owned the Night."

I am soooo, soooo excited for this album to come out!!! "Need You Now" is one of my fav albums that keeps finding it's way into my CD player.

SHAKE IT COUNTRY GIRL

I think many of us will be doing just that for Luke Bryan when he comes to the Dodge County Fair August18th. Right now Luke is on Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic Tour and the other night in San Diego a young lady jumped on stage during that song and shook it so good it took security over a minute to get her off stage!

TRACE ADKINS HOUSE FIRE UPDATE

It has been ruled an accident. Investigators found a faulty electrical connection in a power strip in the garage. You'll recall Brianna said the dryer blew up - it was probably plugged in there.

A NEW SHANIA SONG IS ON THE WAY!

It's been six years (who is she? Garth Brooks?), but during the finale of her show on OWN - "Why Not? With Shania Twain," on June 12th, we'll hear "Today Is Your Day." It will be available exclusively on iTunes immediately following. If you've been watching "Why Not? With Shania Twain" then you know all about it since they have documentted the creation of it during the show.

TRACE ADKINS HOUSE BURNS DOWN

Fortunately everyone was safe. The only casualty was the neighbor who was bitten by their dog when rescued. The poor doggie was scared so hopefully all will be forgiven. The neighbor is doing well. Brianna, one of Trace's daughters, told reporters for local TV station WTVF, "At first we were in the living room watching a movie and then the washer and dryer exploded in the garage."

Trace was flying to Alaska when this happened - he immediately flew back home. Wife Rhonda was not at home - a nanny was with the three youngest when the event occurred.

The fire spread quickly to the attic and from there they had a hard time containing it. Many items were stored in the basement, but due to water most everything was destroyed.

Rhonda puts it in perspective for us. She says "stuff is stuff," and while she is "sick" over the loss of wedding pix and negatives she did add, "practice fire safety and back up all your pictures."

I hope everyone takes the time to talk about how important fire safety is after hearing about this. Do you have a plan? Where will you all meet if this happens to you?
