Ronnie Dunn's First Solo Song

A clip can be heard on his website.

It's called Bleed Red, and the clip is fantastic!

I cannot wait to add the song to our rotation - as soon as I get it I will.

I wouldn't be surprised if this song vaults to the top of the charts in record time.

Lionel Richie Goes Country

Sort of.

He is putting the finishing touches on an album that features some of his biggest hits with some of country's biggest stars. Tony Brown - that's the name of a producer you hear mentioned all the time by the stars in their thank you's when they win awards - is producing, and he told CMT.com, "Lionel is the coolest, fun guy, and he's blown away by the musicians here."

We're looking for a summer date on the album.

Here's what's been recorded so far.

  • Stuck on You w/ Darius Rucker
  • Sail On w/ Tim McGraw
  • Lady w/ Kenny Rogers (makes since 'cuz Kenny had a hit w/ this song)
  • Easy w/ Willie Nelson
  • Deep River Woman w/ Little Big Town
  • You Are w/ Blake Shelton
  • All Night Long w/ Jimmy Buffet and the Coral Reefer Band

I can't wait to hear this album - I hope he releases at least one song to country radio so I can play it for you.

Country Coming to a Nintendo Wii Near You

Country Dance is a new Wii game, coming out in the spring, where you use the remote to imitate the dance moves on your TV. New songs and rewards are unlocked as you get further into the game.

Here's some of the songs we'll be able to dance along with.

  • Carrie Underwood - Cowboy Cassanova
  • Brad Paisley - Water
  • Sugarland - Stuck Like Glue
  • Trace Adkins - Honky Tonk Badonkadonk
  • Zac Brown Band - Chicken Fried
  • Rascal Flatts - Life is a Highway
  • Blake Shelton - All About Tonight
  • Miranda Lambert - White Liar
  • Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire

I think I need to get a Wii - this sounds like fun - disguised as exercise even!

Razzie Idiots

Ya'll know what the Razzies are right? They celebrate the worst movies of the year - and are announced the day before the Oscar nominations, and their ceremony is held the day before The Oscars. Of course, most of Hollywood doesn't approve - but who couldn't help but love Halle Berry more than when she showed up to accept her Razzie for Worst Actress in the movie "Catwoman?"

I normally don't have a problem with The Razzie's - we all know Hollywood takes themselves too seriously (most of the time) and we've all seen our share of stinkers that have made us wonder how such and such a movie ever got made (Hunger 2 is at the top of my list - a cross between a super bad horror movie and a porno).

But this year....well this year they're morons! Why? It's not really the movies they are nominating that has me feeling this way as everyone is entitled to their opinion (and I know a lot of people hate these particular movies), but it's their reasoning that makes them utterly moronic!

"Twilight: Eclipse" is up for Worst Movie and the actors are all up for Worst Actors. Fine - but as I said, their reasoning is stupid. Here's the quote (from the Yahoo story).

Razzies founder John Wilson said that though "Vampires Suck" was a "Twilight" spoof, "Eclipse" actually was funnier to watch. "I know people who are into 'Twilght' who take it totally seriously and they're very vociferous," Wilson said. "Those of us who are not 'Twi-hards,' we don't get it. I don't actually know any teenage girls who have had to make the choice between a werewolf and a vampire."

UM - you MORON - it's not real - and most 'Twi-hards' - while passionate - realize that this is a work of fiction so, if that's your basis for selecting Razzies then where is the "Black Swan" Razzie, as...well, I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen this amazing flick - but let's just say there's a few things that happen in it that I've never seen in the real world either. Or how about Harry Potter? Last time I checked pollyjuice potion doesn't really exist, or Kestrels, or...well, I could go on couldn't I?

He also says some equally stupid stuff about "The Last Airbender" - an M. Night Shyamalan movie - which is up for Worst Director and Screenplay.

"All of this gobbledygook language about airbenders and fire benders and water benders," Wilson said. "You feel like you're on a bender watching the movie. It's completely illogical."

Sigh.

It's called Fantasy! These might not have been great movies in his eyes, but using the rationale that teenagers don't have to choose between vamps and werewolves in real life, or that bending an element to your will is illogical, is well, illogical. Not to mention Ridiculous. Plus, you lose your credibility. Suddenly it's obvious that you're not being objective in your selection, but rather that you have some bias against these movies.

I admit it - I LOVE "Twilight" - I thought the Movie "Eclipse" was MOST EXCELLENT! I know lots of people hate "Twilight" - but if you hate it because it couldn't happen in real life, then you need to seek help from a paid professional because you have some big problems.

Keith Urban a Daddy Again!

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are parents again! If you're like me you are now exclaiming, "WHAT!? I didn't even know she was pregnant!" She wasn't. She is the biological daughter of Keith and Nicole, but was carried by a surrogate.

Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was born December 28th.

The happy parents announced, "Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. Now words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier."

Faith Margaret has an older sister, two-and-a-half-year-old Sunday Rose.

See, if celebs want to keep things private they obviously can!

Golden Globes Sunday

UPDATE 1-17

Carrie Didn't Win - the Globe went to "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me."

Carrie Underwood could win her first Golden Globe. She is in the running for Best Original Song - Motion Picture for her song from the "Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," "There's a Place For Us."

It's a song Carrie wrote with Hillary Lindsey and David Hodges. It's one of two nominations for Hillary who has a second song up in that category with "Coming Home" from "Country Strong." She wrote "Coming Home" with Bob DiPiero, Tom Douglas, and Troy Verges. Two songs from "Burlesque" are up against them, "Bound To You" and "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me." Rounding out the category is "I See the Light" from "Tangled."

Bellamy's Think Britney Ripped Them Off

1/14 UPDATE

Now they are "weighing their legal options."

Now I really have to listen to this song to see what's going on. I still think it's ridiculous that they think they can sue - unless it is a blatent rip off sound wise it's just an answer song. Suck it up and take a compliment guys!

Britney Spears latest iTune number one is called "Hold It Against Me." David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers says they fell "completely ripped off." They feel that her song is a direct result of their 1979 song (that David wrote) "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)." Howard Bellamy says they "have no personal beef with Britney" (they say she's talented), but David asks "Where's the originality?"

Much ado about nothing if you ask me. It's a wonder it's taken this long for someone to do an answer track - if that's what it is - I haven't heard it. I think they should take it as a compliment.

Kix Brooks Naked!

Sort of! He shaved his mustache off for the movie "Thriftstore Cowboy." He says he did it 'cuz he wanted us to not see Kix but the character he plays since he "...really wasn't that much like me personally." Kix says, he's "kind of a bad guy." He describes the movie as "kind of like a little darker version of 'Urban Cowboy."

If you think it's going to be strange seeing Kix without his mustache he will agree with you. He says, "it was weird. And it still is weird. I'm looking at myself in the mirror going, 'Who is that guy?'"

Here's a clip of the shaving from youtube. (It sounds like he's on his bus - gotta give him credit for doing it on a moving vehicle if that's true.)
