COUNTRY USA

It was a blast! Sure we had a downpour interupting the most anticipated concert of the year (Kenny Chesney), and I don't think my car seats have dried out yet from my wet butt (and my nephew's), but it was still great!

I will post more on how much I liked the show, but I want to hear from you.

Who was your fav act? Who was your least?

How did you handle getting stuck in the parking fields for hours (or were you lucky and drove right out?)

Dish the good stuff.

Lezli :)

Nashville Star

They are shaking things up this week. Starts up with Billy Ray Cyrus (BRC) calling out Tommy, and Gabe.

One is one of the top vote getters, one is in the bottom 2.

Tommy….one of the bottom 2!

Gabe is one of the top vote getters. John Rich said it’s Gabe and Melissa who are the original standouts.

Why are the final 10 singing Madonna? My fav Madonna tune (Like a Prayer), but still…

Melissa starts…they harmonize well together. Laura and Sophie had a weak beginning, but pulled it together…oh, here comes a choir. Gabe kept pulling the mic away from his mouth. Ashlee’s voice seems too weak, I like Coffey. Justin, not to bad, Pearl Heart excellent, I like Shawn Mayer too. Weakest of the group song was Laura and Sophie. Wow I loved the ending. The entire song was great!

Katie Cook joined the cast last week. She takes us to commercial break, and interviews the contestants as they head off the stage after their performance and judging.

Ah, it’s Pop Goes Country Night – which is why Madonna.

The show starts with a recap of John Rich giving them the smackdown after last week’s show. “I didn’t like it at all!”

John Rich (JR) is taking the girls to his bar, The Spot.

Jeffrey Steele (JS) is taking the duo and group to his office.

Jewel (J) has to “work” so she is taking the boys to The Tonight Show. I know it’s her job, so technically it’s work, but come on! It’s work the way my air shift is work. I am not saying a lot doesn’t go into my airshift, or what she does, just that work seems like too harsh a word for me or her. (please note that I was very specific – I said my airshift – I think the rest of my job almost, almost could be called work) LOL

Gabe Garcia
“Living La Vida Loca” – Ricky Martin
Jewel tells him he needs to let the lyrics sink in. I liked him practicing in front of the mirror. Nice to show that it doesn’t just happen, these guys practice.
I would have liked it a little faster. I guess I agree with the judges that he needs to relax more. I am liking him more and more every week.
JS – thought he needs to relax more, but said he blew his mind.
JR – Thought he pulled it off, and turned the Texas on.
J – Liked the backup dancers.

The dramatic pauses on this show are a bit ridiculous!

Pearl Heart
“Love Shack” – B52’s
Need to support the lead singer sister according to Jeffrey. He says they’re gone if they don’t. They do want to support her. She seems intimidated by one of the first lines “Knock harder.”
She does the hard line!! The judges are digging her. I don’t thing they pulled off what they were suppose to. Good, but not great for me, and I still can’t tell them apart. I really need to pay attention to that.
JR – thought it was great. Liked there look (said they took it to the next level). He said they looked at each other too much.
J – need to step out as a front woman, she is adorable. Said it was a bit of a cheat, that they were all compressed together, and soon she would have to step out.
JS – agreed with John. Told her to step out and make that triangle a heart (Pearl Heart). I loved that!

Alyson Gilbert
“I Think We’re Alone Now” – Tiffany (but also, the original Tommy James and the Shondells!)
I don’t think JR liked her song choice. Let’s see what she does.
When she came out she seemed nervous about going down the steps. Her heels are killer high. Well she had the crazy eyes controlled until the very end. I didn’t like what she did. Pitchy.
J – asked if she was uncomfy in her shoes. Alyson said the stairs were a bit scary, but otherwise not really. (they were gorgeous shoes, Gold, 5 inch spikes it looked like) Said she was pitchy.
JS – Called her Dr. Jeckle/Alyson Hyde. “Too much pop in my country this week.” He liked her first week, really liked last week, but not so much this week.
JR – “First of all, what are you doing?...Took the song to a vanilla mediocre spot.” HA! I knew he hated that song! He wanted it to rock more.

I really like the judges. They are open and honest with the contestants. They really don’t seem to be making fun. They ask real questions, and give real advice. I hope Idol is paying attention. These judges are actually treating the contestants with (gasp) respect!

Katie Cook asks Coffey (remember, it’s Kaw’ – Fay) who he honestly thinks is the last one in the bottom two. Thank God he had the sense not to answer that dumb question.

Ashlee Hewitt
“You Drive Me Crazy” – Brittney Spears
JR wants her to rock hard and to be sexy (which explains her really cute belly button exposing top)
I really like what she did, but it was a bit of a weak start.
J – sees much of herself in Ashlee. Thought she did a great job. Told her she liked her in blue jeans with messy hair.
JS – asked if she felt it was out of her element. Said this was a real life experience and that she had the goods, and needed to let it show, and not be afraid.
JR – said she was consistently better each week.

BRC – “So good it made me want to shave my head.” Delivered deadpan, reading the monitor. Katie Cook is so much better at reading that promter. At first I wondered what she was doing there, but now it’s obvious. No way could BRC pull off the interview part. She is into it, paying attention, and asks good questions (well, it is her job), and he is just too wooden. Nice guy, and good singer, that BRC, but he needs work on this hosting thing.

Yay Coffey!!!
“Umbrella” – Rhianna
They have to play us a snippit of the real song ‘cuz we might not know it. LOL – it’s funny ‘cuz it’s true. (I’ve heard of it, but never actually heard it)
Love it!! He is getting into it, and singing to his daughter. I like this guy.
JS – looks so serious. This is the real Coffey? (the crowd is going crazy, absolutely crazy!) He isn’t on the train yet. Well, from the crowd, he’s the only one.
JR – says he just saw the guy from the audition that he liked. Called it country soul, and said that John Anderson was there and prolly liked it (he gave it a thumbs up).
J – watch the gimmicks. JR wanted to know what gimmicks. She said he talked at the end, and beatboxed too much. Told him to pick his moments.
Hmmm, he said he was doing it to bridge the generation gap, but he understood what Jewel was saying. Interesting.

BRC did not, DID NOT, just do a Ryan Seacrest did he? OMG he did! Said we would find out who was in the bottom two…dramatic, but really stupid…pause…after the commercial break. So this show is better than Idol except for that stupidity! Please, stop it! It could be excellent, but this will prevent it from being all that it could be.

Laura and Sophie
“P.Y.T. – Pretty Young Thing” - Michael Jacksons (gosh he used to be soooo good)
I think JS really came up with the idea of how to change the song, not them.
They are stressing their relationship. Something that prolly hasn’t happened to them yet.
They are trying so hard to not sing to each other, they aren’t connecting. I don’t like their dresses. Sure one is cute, but the two just look ridiculous. I just don’t see country radio playing these two. I didn’t like what they did to the song.
JR – “they should be standing on a birthday cake.” Liked it. Musically, doesn’t like them singing the same note together, but liked when they alternated lyrics.
J – liked when they sang separately. They are going from cutesy novelty to more serious. Said they looked like Madonna Cupcakes.
JS – “I’m so proud of you. That was fabulous.” Said they need to come out a little bit more. (they were cute ‘cuz they gushed about how they would have “sucked” if Jeffrey hadn’t been so great.)
BRC makes a Michael Jackson joke, and it looked like it came off the top of his head. Not sure if I liked that better than the lame-O Britney joke.

The exchange with Katie Cook was funny.
Jewel said you looked like Madonna Cupcakes. “I like cupcuakes so I think that’s good.”
Are you going to wear those dresses again? “I hope so.” OK, so they like them. (LOL – Katie doesn’t?)

They are so young and cute! But they need a lot of work, so far, they are just behind Pearl Heart on my least fav list tonight. (but Justin hasn’t gone yet – ouch I know!)

I missed the name of the group that performed, but they were pretty good. All girls, and all in black. Hot for the boys.

Katie Cook asks if Melissa is nervous (of course she is…she was bottom 2 last week).

Shawn Mayer is so excited.
“Bye Bye Bye” – THE BSB! Back Street Boys.
John Rich is blown away by her choice. She takes a lot of risks. She’s ballsy like him.
I liked what she did to it.
J – “Wow. Wow.” Told her she went outside of her comfort zone with the dancing. (she did the BSB’s moves) Didn’t take away from it being country. You’re a girl that strikes me as sad, but you smiled tonight.
JS – didn’t think it was country enough for him. Thinks she has a lot inside of her that needs to come out. Thinks it’s bye bye bye for her.
JR – The most country thing about her is that she isn’t scared of anything. Said she had to get better.
J – wants America to keep her around for the songwriters night.

Shawn is so happy with the applause. She is the awe shucks girl of this show.
She told Katie that once her and John admitted they wanted to “knock each other out” all became well. WTH does that mean?

Melissa Lawson
“True Colors” – Cyndi Lauper
She has the voice for this song. Wants to make this country.
Week beginning, but she picked it up.
J- Thinks she’s a great country singer.
JS – Wants to know what happened to her. (this one likes to be funny that way) Thought her performance was a 10. (she’s lost 67 pounds)
JR – Likes to work with artists. She just showed America “you’re a true artist.”
Katie – thinks she has a good shot at winning.

After the break it’s Justin or Tommy going home. It better be Justin. Tommy wasn’t that bad last week.

Justin Gaston
“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” – Cyndi Lauper
Jewel is blatant that he needs to work on his voice. He needs to project and sing out.
His best yet. He lost it on the high note. He really made it country, but it’s almost boring. There is no real zip for me. But it was kind of honky tonky for me. IDK I guess I kinda liked it. LOL
JR – Best so far, and he sounded country. Saw improvement.
JS – Thought he was great, ate his words, literally. He had made a list of mean things to say ‘cuz he wasn’t buying his act.
J – Most improved.

I feel bad for Tommy ‘cuz they all said they hope it’s not too late. That would mean Tommy would have to go home.

Tommy Stanley
“Maniac” – Michael Sembello – the Flashback theme! I am laughing so hard I am snorting!!!
It’s good, but it doesn’t feel country too me. And wow, I think he can sing.
JS – love that last note (yeah). Didn’t get my country bone going (Jewel thought it sounded like something JR would say) Wants to see him play the guitar. He’s at broadway show.
JR – Can’t make a country record singing like that.
J – Justin “out –countried” you tonight.

Jewel said flat out that Justin was the most improved and that shocked everyone. I love the plain talk in this show. Not said to hurt, but just matter of fact.

Now I feel bad that I want Justin to go home.

OMFG!!!! (that’s frickin’!) I knew they would announce the winner after the break, but to have BRC start to announce the winner, do the dumb, dumb, (you must stop it now or there will be dire consequences) DUMB dramatic pause…then say “right after the commercial break!” This is not BRC’s fault, he is just doing what he is suppose to, but I want to ring his neck.

Doesn’t BRC still have a mullet? It’s short in the front and long in the back, just not feathered back.

So much time to kill, such long pauses (I typed this while waiting to find out who got the boot).

It was Justin. Just who we thought. I feel bad ‘cuz he was much improved.
BRC said he was going to be a big movie star “Tom Cruise look out.” He does look a bit like Tom.

Jewel gave him some nice parting words.
John Rich said he thought he had greatness in him, just had to figure it out. This wasn’t his gig.
JS – “I got nothing to say, I ate all my words.”

Tonight my favs were Ashlee Hewitt and Justin Gaston (I know!).

So I guess I want Laura and Sophie to go. They and Alyson were weak tonight, but I think they need more work.

Who do you want to see go home? Who was your favorite tonight? Was it Justin, who then went home?

Am I just crazy? Let me know.

Nashville Star

This week the judges split up and mentored the contestants.

John Rich (JR) is mentoring the girls – which he wanted.

Jewel (J) is mentoring the guys – she wanted that too.

Jeffrey Steele (JS) is mentoring the groups – he really didn’t want that ‘cuz he said it’s hard to get groups to focus sometimes.

We will see who the better mentor is. And can you imagine the Idol judges doing this? OK, no more Idol shots, we all know that this show could teach that show a lesson on how to treat the talent, and how to actually care about what they are doing. (seems to me the Idol judges are for the most part, bored with their show – JMHO)

This week they call contestants up to perform, and at the end the last two are up for elimination. Someone is going home.

Laura and Sophie
Jeffrey Steele is their mentor.
They sing too much to themselves and each other – they know it, let’s see if they can fix it.
“Rockin’ With the Rythem of the Rain” – The Judds
Nice harmonies. They are trying to sing to the audience more by looking at the audience, but this is something they have to work on. But that’s not enough to bounce them from the competition yet, if they are still doing it in week 5 then they are in trouble.
JR - told them that they need to find songs more their age, like Taylor Swift.
J - wants them to find a song they don’t know since they auditioned with that song.
JS - said he felt like he was at a slumber party – in otherwords they are still singing to themselves.

Ashlee Hewitt
John Rich is their mentor
“Ring of Fire” – Johnny Cash
I like how it ended. She can sing.
JS – Made us worried, he questioned whether she could bring the energy and “fire” to the last part of the competition. They tried to move on to J, but JS said he wasn’t done yet and that she had “a lot of fire on that ring of fire.”
J – liked it, and liked her swinging her guitar behind her back.
JR – LOL to him embarrassing Jewel, and then telling everyone to go by Jewel’s album (which he produced so every album bought puts some money in his pocket – lol) Anyhoo, he said that Ashlee had a folk quality to her country. He’s right, she has a different type of voice, and I like it the more I hear it.

OMG the pretty boy made it!
Justin Gaston
Jewel is his mentor, and she is really focused on helping him. Says he needs to bring his hert.
“Oh What You Do To Me”
Well I think I’m over his hotness, then they give us a back shot. Don’t like him thou.
JS – Not feelin’ him yet.
JR – Says he comes off “Very, very sweet.” He said “that was terrible.”
J – OK to be who he is which is sweet. Says he can sing and needs to get control of his voice.

Now here’s where it gets interesting for me. I didn’t watch live, I taped it, but last night we channel surfed over and saw a bit of this performance. We tuned away and I told my honey that I didn’t think he was good enough to be on the show. I wanted to know how they could see thousands of talented singers and end up with him on the show. My honey said it was his looks since he thought he was awful too. Well, John Rich said the same thing!! He said he didn’t think he was good enough to be on the show, and wondered if he had snuck in the backdoor. Couldn’t believe I was hearing him affirm my thoughts. Must be tough to hear, but I really can’t see Justin becoming a country singer.

Billy Ray Cyrus has to come out and cheer him up. He tells him to “definitely listen to Jewel.”

Alyson Gilbert – yikes Shawn is in trouble.
John Rich is her mentor.
“Every Breath You Take” – The Police.
Alright, she can sing. Still can see the drama in her when she performs, but it was much better.
JS – Compared her to Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde. Saw two different people in two different weeks.
J – Liked it and told her to take advice to be like Reba, to be kind an accessible. Loved her voice.
JR – Told her it was a great job and she was crying the right kind of tears, not tears of fear (80’s Band joke!) but tears of “I just nailed it!”
That’s what this competition is about! Really improving, and she really did.

Pearl Heart
Jeffrey Steele is their mentor.
“Who Says You Can’t Go Home” – Bon Jovi & Jennifer Nettles
This was one that we saw live last night, and we both agreed that they can sing, but the lead needs to break out more. The other two drown her out. I really have to learn their names, they should put it on the bottom of the screen so we can learn.
JR – said their harmonies were great, but wants her to really rock it like Taylor Swift does (since they are the same age).
J – wants her to take dance lessons so she can move better. Needs her to not act like a front woman. She says she is awkward.
JS – says they are wandering around. I think that is a good description. They need to focus more. They have some good potential. Let’s hope they’re around longer so we can see if they shine.

Tommy Stanley
Jewel is his mentor.
“Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” – Big & Rich
Rocky start for me, but I am liking it. He is a good performer. John Rich is playing guitar for him from his judges chair.
JS – calls him a “kiss a$$” But says it’s his best one yet (only two in so what does that say?)
J – Told him to not rush his phrases, but she liked it.
JR – says he could go out on the road with him as Tommy & Rich since Big Kenny is off the road this year (he had a neck injury he finally had repaired).
He is starting to feel him. Then embarrasses him by asking if any of the women are crushing on him yet (he is a man in uniform – Navy)? That JR is naughty and I am just going to leave it at that!

Gabe Garcia
Jewel is his mentor.
“Have You Ever Seen the Rain” – Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR Babe!)
I like him better than last week. He seemed to connect more to the audience, to open up a bit.
JS – Thought he looked like a deer in the headlights.
J – Thought he opened up more, and that “slow and steady wins the race.”
JR – “Turn the Texas on a bit more.” LOL Thought he was good.

Shawn Mayer – OMG I am worried about Coffey now. Melinda has to make it thru, so it’s prolly bye bye Third Town
John Rich is her mentor.
“He Stopped Loving Her Today” – George Jones
Wow – she is blowing me away. I loved what she did with this song. Very vulnerable too.
J – Don’t bring all this weight.
JS – Wasn’t sold on it. Don’t sacrifice the lyric for the big ‘Star Search’ note. Feel the lyric. Jewel disagreed, and thought she had done that, and I thought so too.
JR – Thought she took the challenge, but didn’t quite make it to the top of Mt. Everest.
I really want to hear more of what she can do now.

Coffey!! (say it like this – Kaw – Fay – the accent on Fay) Yes, I want to see what he can do, but I am worried about Melissa – how could she not make it, she was the best?
Jewel is his mentor.
“Waiting on the World to Change” – John Mayer
JS – Not feeling it when he closes he eyes.
JR – Likes his singing, but doesn’t think he’s seen him yet.
J – Thinks he’s uncomfortable.
They all want to see “him” more, and I do too. I hope he’s around next week. Plus, he is a tall drink of water.

Trace Adkins performs “You’re Gonna Miss This” and sounds fab! **sigh** I love Trace! He makes me melt. And I like how his t-shirt is tucked in just so you can see his…belt buckle! HA! You thought I was going to say something else!

Oooo, they sing with him, and add some nice harmony!

The last two performers will both sing. Nice that they perform before they are kicked out.

Melissa Lawson
John Rich is her mentor.
“Natural Woman” – Aretha Franklin
Wow can this woman sing! She nailed it. WOW!!!
J – can’t believe she is in the bottom two.
JS – Thought she finished strong
JR – Thinks she could be on Broadway. Thought she was acting, thinking about it too much. They need a real artist.
I wonder if she is in the bottom two ‘cuz people thought she would be safe since she was soooo good.

Third Town
Jeffrey Steele is their mentor.
“Mountain Music” – Alabama
I think they were pretty much the same as last week.
JR – didn’t like them. Said he told them to find a lead last week, and they were pretty scattered, he then name dropped and said he told Randy Owen to watch the show and that he had prolly changed the channel. (JR is Randy Owen’s producer)
J – said they got the crowd going, but she has seen Japanese Karaoke singers do the same thing (oh SNAP – OUCH!). She wasn’t feeling them.
JS – thought it was their best one yet. I didn’t think he looked happy during their performance. I think he looked like he was seeing the same performance as last week.

Third Town has to go home. And they DO!

I like using Trace’s song “You’re Gonna Miss This” as the goodbye theme.

Well, my pick to go home next week is Justin. Let’s be real folks, he has a long way to go before he is ready. He’s the only one that I don’t want to see again. All the others made me want more, even if they were a bit weak.

Nashville Star

They are making it soooo dramatic with that music in the beginning. They want their show to have gravitas. ‘Take me seriously’ it practically screams. I get it, you’re not American Idol.

A Top 50 become the final 12. The Final 12 perform tonight. The judges send one home at the end of the show, then we have two hours to vote.

Billy Ray Cyrus is the host. He is such a cheerleader. “That was incredible!” “Fantastic!” “Good job!” He makes ‘em feel good before they hear from the judges.

Well, this show seals it, crying is now a mandatory part of reality shows. I swear this year people are crying more than ever on reality shows. What is up with that! It is annoying! (yeah, like I wouldn’t be a crying baby I’m such an emotional being. lol)

What is up with this long intro that feels more like a promo for the show, than the show? I am worried that people that are surfing by, or just checking in, will check out before the singing begins.

The segment with the military was awesome. A lot of great talent there. Somehow, I can’t see these people deluding themselves, or having friends that would allow them to delude themselves, so would there really be any bad singers? Can you see one of them lying to their friend? “No, you were awesome. You gotta try out for Nashville Star.” I can’t see them doing that if they thought they didn’t have a shot.

The Judges: Songwriter/Singer Jeffrey Steele
John Rich from Big & Rich
Former Nashville Star host Jewel
John Rich won’t let anyone be fake, he says this after they show him on stage being over the top with his outfits like the full length fur. He is so fun and over the top. Are we suppose to think that’s really him?

I loved when they changed up Charlies audition with a different song that was better for his voice. I would like to have seen more of this. That shows that they really care about their job. They are taking it seriously.

So Charlie’s audition was good and then it was downhill.
LOL The judges went out and yelled at the crowd about hearing no, that they have all heard it and you have to get use to it. It’s the business. They gave them a pep talk. LOL

Wow, Justin’s hot!

Initial impresson on the group sing is that the women are better than the men. Melissa was the first one that made me say “Wow.”

Taylor Swift sang “Picture to Burn” and was amazing. John Rich told the Top 12 that her sensibilities about country music are why she is the hottest thing in country today. Taylor told them to respect everyone, that they are nothing without their fans.

The grand prize is a Warner Brothers contract, Toyota Tundra truck and a chance to perform at the 2008 Olympics. And something that I missed.

Pearl Heart – Amy, Courtney, and Angela
Sisters – working for this for 10 years.
Dixie Chicks – Wide Open Spaces
They sounded pretty good, nice harmonies. The judges liked them, Jewel told her that she needs to step out more as a front women. I thought the same, but can’t tell you which one she is, I don’t know which is which yet.

Tommy Stanley – USS Kittyhawk – Navy Man – an engineer
When they said he could go thru and he had to turn around I totally choked up.
Marc Cohen – Walking in Memphis
He can sing and he is a performer. He gets the crowd involved.
I can see what John Rich said about him being over excited and maybe trying too hard.

Shawn Mayer (is a woman)
Janis Joplin/Faith Hill – Take a Piece of My Heart
She can sing, but what is she doing to this song.? The beginning was bad, but she pulled it in at the end. Judges felt she needed to reach for those notes more. She looks nervous looking into that camera as BRC gives her numbers. I think that is a pretty real look. She isn’t use to looking in that camera, and it is a weird feeling when you first do it.

Third Town – Toni, Little Toni, & Jeff
14 years together
Oak Ridge Boys – Elvira
I don’t think they are ready, even though they can harmonize. John Rich needs a defining sound. Yes. Though Little Big Town wanted to not go that way, and it is working for them, but these guys aren’t working it, they are getting lost as JR said.

Coffey
A single dad who will be away from his daughter for 2 ½ months.
Doobie Brothers – Drift Away
I really like his look. His voice doesn’t blow me away, well wait, it’s pretty good. Nice falsetto at the end. JR – best thing I’ve seen so far tonight. John Rich called Jewel pitchy!!! LOFL Jeffery Steele said Coffey was in spots and Jewel said “WHAT! Rewind the tape.” That’s when John said they had just made a record together and she was pitchy too!

Laura & Sophie
BFF’s or at least 7 years.
The youngest in the competition.
The way they looked at each other they knew that the magic was going to happen as soon as they joined together. They can belt it out. Jewel and JR hit it in that they sang to each other more than the audience.

Gabe Garcia
George Strait – All My Exes
They didn’t make a big deal about Coffey being African American, but they point out that Gabe is Hispanic. What’s up with that? Twany traditional. Nice voice, but very much a bar performance for me. Jewel and JR danced. John Rich wants to record his voice. LOL to Jewel saying “he just wants to let us know he’s recording the record. It’s all about John.” Why do I think she is not kidding? But he prolly is sweet so it doesn’t get on your nerves so much

Alyson Gilbert
She is a red head who studies Animal Science.
Sara Evans – Suds in the Bucket
She’s got the crazy eyes when she sings. She is a pagent person!! That explains it. Jewel nailed the reason. I didn’t think her voice was bad, but she needs to calm down. John Rich doesn’t seem to like her much, and said that the person who wins will perform at the Olympics, and that performance wasn’t good enough.

Ashlee Hewitt
Wow she has a huge family. Her dad recently deployed to Iraq.
I don’t know the song she is singing, but I like how vulnerable she sounded.
JR said, “It was simple, I felt it.” Jewel and Jeffrey agreed that she needs to showcase her voice and personality more.

Charlie Jenkins
A real cowboy.
Tim McGraw – I Like It, I Love It
I’m not sure I really care for his voice. He worked the crowd nice by walking thru it. The judges weren’t buying it though. He doesn’t look happy as BRC is giving his numbers – he knows he is in trouble.

Justin Gaston
He is HOT! He is HOT! Have I said it yet how HOT he is? HOLY COW is he hot. OK, ::deep breath:: I need to listen to him sing. :P
I don’t know the song he’s singing. He is not good. He is the first one I haven’t liked at all. BRC is right he is hot! JS didn’t like it, JR said it was pitchy, he liked him countryfing the song, but none really liked his voice.

Melissa Lawson
Bonnie Raitte = Something to Talk About
She can really sing. She is my fav of the night. Nice ending. Wow. Jewel stole my word. “Wow” Mick Jagger could learn a few things from you regarding her attitude, according to Jewel.

We go to commercial and come back to have a judge vote someone out.
Jeffrey – Charlie
John – Alyson
It’s all up to Jewel!!
Jewel – Charlie

I don’t think Charlie’s voice was right for the radio. I completely agree with the choice of Jewel, and her reasons.

Next week it’s out vote that gives someone the boot. I think Justin could be a goner, or will it be Charlie or Third Town. Those were my weakest.

Right nowmy absolute favorite is Melissa Lawson. I really can hear her on a radio near you (that would be The Most Fun in the Country – WXRO 95.3FM).

What about you? Let me know who you liked and who you didn’t. And what did you think of the show?

Kenny Rogers House

He's selling it for just under 8 million bucks! I tell ya, it's a palace. Kenny says, "Every wall, every ceiling, every floor is different. I touched every inch of this house." He is selling it completely furnished, and the house features rooms with Chinese, Italian, and African themes. Kenny, wife Wanda, and their twin boys (who must have went crazy not being able to touch anything in that house) are moving to a 150-acre estate near Athens, GA.

Here's the link so you can see it yourself.
