Beauty All Around Me

I just felt like sharing pictures of some of the beautiful perennials planted last weekend. It's hard to pick a favorite. I love Bridal Wreath and this is close - it's a Grefsheim Spirea. We actually have a red and white Bleeding Heart, so neat, and right now we have Peppermint Hydrangeas that look just like those 3 big blooms.

I had to have a Burning Bush! Those pretty light purple flowers are Northern Starbust Rhododendron.

Once on a walk I saw these beautiful flowers. I didn't know what they were, but decided that I had to have some one day. So when I saw the Goblin Blanket Flower at the nursery I scooped one up.

This is the Balloon Flower. Gorgeous flowers that pop out of lovely balloon buds.

Here's hoping I can channel my inner Flora Goddess and help these plants thrive.

Trace Adkins New Comic Venture

I'm going to apologize right off for the horrible pun that I just made with the title of this post. ;)

Trace Adkins a one big dude and now not only will his image be used in a comic book, but so will his philosophical outlook. Combine them, and a new comic book hero is born ("Here I Come to Save the Day!" - sorry, Mighty Mouse theme is just floating around in my head. lol)

Trace will be Luke McBain in an upcoming four-book set. Writer David Tischman says he based the character on Adkins' "entertainment persona," noting, quote, "It breathes a real life personality into the fictional character which is something we wanted."

Here's Luke McBain's back story. He's an ex-convict who spent 14 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

We get to follow his experiences after he returns to his rural Louisiana hometown, to find it's very changed from when he left, and now it operates under corruption and greed. Of course, Lukeis the only person willing to take a stand against those in charge.

You can get your hot little hands on the first issue of "Luke McBain" just in time for Christmas. It comes out November 12th.

Big Kenny - Big & Rich - Cowboy Troy

Just got the new song in from Big Kenny (of Big & Rich - no they haven't broke up - keep reading!). "Long After I'm Gone" is fabulously inspirational. The video is pretty cool too.

See it here (courtesy of GAC).

Today is your last day to sign up to see Big & Rich at the Pheasant Run Resort. We are taking a motorcoach trip down, hitting a great BBQ where Cowboy Troy & Two Foot Fred will be, and then going to a great concert. Just $55 for all this (and more!) Call 885-4442 TODAY!!!!!!

I'm set to interview Cowboy Troy at 12:45 today! Right after I'll give you a chance to win pit passes that are right in front of the stage (you can't buy these) and you'll be able to ride our motorcoach too!
