ACM - Top New Artist Nominees

Your votes are in and it's going to be Eric Church vs. Band Perry at the ACM's April 3rd!

Eric beat out Randy Houser and Easton Corbin for Top New Solo Vocalist, while Band Perry beat Steel Magnolia and the Jane Dear Girls for the top honor of Top New Duo or Group.

The ACM Top New Artist is fan voted and you can vote starting March 11th at 2pm (I know, such an odd time), until the start of the show on April 3rd.

MY HONEY IS THE SWEETEST

23 years ago tonight I met my honey, John - in the UW-Stevens Point cafeteria. He sent me these glorious flowers today. I had just told him how much I loved lilies this week. So glad my life changed on this night in 1988.

THE BAND PERRY DOUBLE DOG DARES YOU

The Band Perry has teamed up with Purina for the Double Dog Dare campaign.

The promotion invites us to "dare" Purina to take an action that helps animals.

It's called The Double Dog Dare campaign.

Neil, Kimberly & Neil Perry love doggies. They have two Corgies and two Great Pyrenees so it was a no brainer to team up with Purina for this challenge.

Head over to www.daredogchow.comfor your chance to win.

THIS IS PURE BULLSPIT!

Maxim Magazine has come out with their list of the "Hottest Women of Country Women."

The problem is - the person who created this list - has no real idea about Country music and our women! All these women are beautiful - but their number one chick isn't really a Country Woman!

They chose Gwyneth Paltrow!!! PUH -LEASE! Yes, she is gorgeous, but she just PLAYED a country singer - sure she's had a song on country radio - but she is only a Temporary Country Woman! She is an ACTOR!

They are giving it to her for her vocals as Kelly Canter in "Country Strong," saying, "She does a much better job than Clint Eastwood in "Honkytonk Man." And looks better to boot."

I have a feeling a few of these women will have you scratching your head going "who?"

Here's the full list.

  1. Gwyneth Paltrow
  2. Taylor Swift
  3. Jessie James (has had one minor song on the charts - bottom 50's - she is pretty but not really a country artist)
  4. Julie Roberts
  5. Shania Twain
  6. Julianne Hough
  7. Carrie Underwood
  8. Kellie Pickler
  9. Gloriana's Cheyenne Kimball
  10. Miranda Lambert
  11. Sara Evans
  12. Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott
  13. Sunny Sweeney
Where is Faith?
Where is Martina?
Where is Reba?
Where is Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland?
I think/know I could go on.

TRAILER CHOIR LOSES A MEMBER

I always hate to hear stories like this 'cuz it usually means the demise of a group. (Sugarland being a big exception - and Lonestar - at least in the early years - Lonestar hasn't had much success since Richie left - but his solo career hasn't done much either.)

Anyway - Trailer Choir's Crystal Hoyt is leaving the groupt to "pursue other interest." They all say it is amicable. Big Vinny Hickerson says she's "a dear friend, and we wish her much success." Mark "Butter" Fortney says, "The band is very proud of it's work and efforts together and is parting on very supportive terms."

Crystal says, "Working with Butter and Vinny has been an incredible experience, and I wish them nothing but the best. We are looking forward to what 2011 has to bring for all of us."

Trailer Choir will continue as a duo - which is terrific 'cuz I just love Trailer Choir - and it's really the male voices that make TC for me.

Trailer Choir was discovered by Toby Keith and signed them to his label in 2007.

Good luck to Crystal.

The Good Wife (CBS)
Gossip Girl (CW)
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS)
Hellcats (CW)
House (Fox)

How I Met Your Mother (CBS) Use to be my fav - still a top 10 for me - but it's been weak this season

Law & Order: Los Angeles (NBC) I'm shocked to see this on this list 'cuz they are doing a major revamp - but it is NBC

Law & Order: SVU (NBC)
The Mentalist (CBS)
Mike & Molly (CBS)
NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS)

The Office (NBC) Mixed feelings about this - I want it to go out on a high note - and I think they are missing that opportunity by not ending it this season - but again, it is NBC

Parenthood (NBC) LOVE this show! PLEASE bring it back!

Parks and Recreation (NBC) Another show I really like - plus Amy Pohler's character's name is Leslie - no one on TV ever has my name - let alone the lead!

Supernatural (CW) My FAV show on TV - more Dean & Sam PLEASE!!!! (pretty please, with Dean & Sam on top :)

Survivor (CBS)
Undercover Boss (CBS)

The Vampire Diaries (CW) They BETTER bring this AWESOME show back - it is amazing and fast moving and then there's Damon!

LOOKING NOT SO GOOD

Better With You (ABC)
Bob's Burgers (Fox)
Brothers & Sisters (ABC)

CSI: NY (CBS)
The Defenders (CBS)

Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC) I hear this is a great show - one I'll have to catch up on if they renew it

The Event (NBC) I tried so hard to like this show - it was so disappointing for me - I just didn't care what the Event was.

Human Target (Fox) A VERY Fun show! Bring it BACK!

Lie to Me (Fox)
Nikita (CW)

No Ordinary Family (ABC) Another fun fluffy show that is stacked up in my DVR

Off the Map (ABC)
One Tree Hill (CW)

Outsourced (NBC) My fav of the Thursday night NBC sitcoms

Perfect Couples (NBC) CBS just moved Rules of Engagement opposite this new show - Rules wins

Rules of Engagement (CBS) I could do without David Spade's Russell character and Timmy - but I love the two couples.

V (ABC) GAH! I LOVE V! Please bring it back - it's great sci-fi - and you can't find that on network TV right now.

CANCELED/ENDING

Friday Night Lights (NBC)
The Good Guys (Fox)

Medium (CBS) My fav family show - and the mysteries were always pretty unique - I just wish CBS would have given them a few more epis so it could have went out less rushed. The ending with the cast saying goodbye still chokes me up.

Life Unexpected (CW)
Live to Dance (CBS)

Running Wilde (Fox) Had 7 of these stacked in the DVR - I just deleted them

Smallville (CW) This show had a great run - a couple of rocky years - but it's going out with a bang - can't wait to see Clark Fly!!!
